Tray Cable
Tray cable comes in a few variations to satisfy different applications. THHN / PVC tray cable is the most basic and common type because it's the cheapest and most universal. XLPE / PVC tray cable is a slight upgrade with a flame retardant jacket and EPR / CPE has a rubber insulation and jacket similar to industrial power cables. All of our tray cables come in stranded bare copper with an additional ground wire.

Cut Tubing
WesBell Electronics sells heat shrink, PVC and Teflon tubing in bulk, specific spool sizes and 4' lengths to avoid the curl for being on a spool. We'll also cut any type of tubing to any length you provide. As an ISO 9001 company, WesBell can meet and exceed the needs of its customers.
Essential Features of Shielded Tray Cable
A tray cable has a multitude of use and application and this proves to be easy to use and install. Usually made of highly reliable conduction materials for extra versatility and endurance to withstand different conditions like heat, moisture, and exposure to sunlight, sometimes, users do not usually find this to be enough. For highly specialized use, there is a need for shielding. Thus, the shielded tray cable is born.
Critical cables usually need to have extra protection. Protection is provided by shielding that makes it possible for highly critical application. Without sufficient shielding, the following may result: glitches or errors when running computers due to the propagation and spread of data that are erroneous, interference in radio and television systems, malfunction and failure of the entire system because of fluctuating levels of voltage, and unsecure lines for data that may lead to theft of information.
Basic electronics tell that longer tray cable can lead to large difference in the voltage level. Interference is more likely to be experienced due to higher impedance and a lower voltage control. This can lead to a failure altogether, but this can be prevented by proper shielding and padding for extra protection.
Early application of shielded tray cable is for the military and government facilities. Today, it is being used in the industrial and utility companies for higher wavelength applications. By shielding the tray cable, the interference from the source is minimized, the affronting circuits can be isolated, and the danger of radiation or electrocution is also reduced. Among the types of conductors, the most cost efficient material that may be utilized is pre-galvanized steel which is distinct for having a surface that is smooth and moldable, open for welding options, and highly conductive. It resists corrosion and tarnishing due to the galvanization it underwent. However, it is not recommended to coat the steel with paint because it can work against the effectiveness of the shielding.
Looking at the specifications of the shielded tray cable construction, which consists of the conductor, insulation, shield, and jacket, the most pertinent features are discovered. The conductor usually comprise of twisted pairs of fully tinned and annealed copper wires. The insulation, which is fully color coded is made of premium quality PVC. The color coding is made of pairs of black and red, with number labels positioned at intervals of one inch. The shield is mad of polyester and aluminum foil with the foil facing inwards. Each pair is covered with stranded tinned copper drain wire. The jacket is made up of gray PVC applicable for temperatures ranging from negative 20 degrees Celsius up to 105 degrees Celsius.
Usually, shielded tray cable may be used for interconnection between computers, alarms against burglars, machines for business applications, circuits of power, intercom systems, and cash registers. The tray cables with shielding have very impressive features which include jackets that are highly resistant against sunlight, characteristics that withstand a wide range of temperature, and lastly, it is very tough, reliable, and durable.
